Our History
MPM was initiated at that time when Bihar was suffering from floods in 1971. The association was formed and called Mahila Pratiraksha Mandal, collected donations from people and deposited it in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Bihar. Then they opened a school and a creche for the underprivileged at a Gurudwara in Tagore Garden. Soon a place was allotted in Raghubir Nagar by MCD where the creche was opened and with the help of donations they built the place where they were also providing mid-day meals to children. In 1976, the society was registered. In 1990, MPM opened another center in Andrews Ganj and later in Tihar Jail with the help and support of Kiran Bedi, where they counsel the fresh jail inmates and the existing one for their mental health and any kind of help they require be it be meeting their family members or helping them to get bail with the help of lawyers. MPM also runs counseling centers in Raghubir Nagar & Andrews Ganj where they try to resolve family disputes. Society also constructed a Housing Society in Dwarka by the name Sahara Apartments. MPM currently has 12 Teachers, 12 Helpers, 6 Counselors, 300 Children in all the centers put together.
